I was planning a 2 nights getaway as a birthday gift to my wife, but ended up to have additional night at Bandung... This unplanned night lead us to find this cozy little B&B called Cottonwood. As a conventional hotel guest, at first I was a bit sceptical about this place. I even try to browse for other conventional hotels on our way to Cottonwood.

Somehow my mind was not bothered to think so I was just go along with my wife's suggestion to go to this B&B. Finally when we arrived, I saw this unique three storeys house. So I told my self, "OK, let's try this..."

The building itself is located within residential area, in the corner of Hercules and Mustang road somewhere behind Maranatha Christian University. The first floor stood a nice cozy cafe. Designed as reading room with several bookshelves and series of books, and some walls are covered with chalkboards. As an alternative dining location for B&B, they offer snacks as well as full meals, with variety of western and Indonesian dishes. Quite a long list of Coffee varieties, scented teas, and choices of cakes and warm pastries. Since we had a late lunch, I only had Chilli Fries, and we also had a complimentary Fried Cheesy Cassava. Later on we ordered Mie Goreng (Fried Noodles) to be eaten in the room. For the drink, I tried Lavish Fruitier tea. Nice fruity taste of tea.

The B&B itself is not big. With only total of 9 rooms, which each have different theme, with 14 square meters space. The room is cozy and clean, nothing much in the room but bed, hanger, side table, and shoe shelves. The Bathroom also minimalist, about 1x3 meter, just enough for a standing shower.

I'll say, if you're planning to visit Bandung and spending most of the time traveling around the city, this is the place. The location might not be at the center, but it's just near the exit of tollway from Jakarta in Pasteur area. Too bad the cafe closes at 9pm, so you might need to prepare yourself with a snack in case you get hungry at midnight.

The WiFi at the cafe is OK, I mean you can browse and read some news, but I wouldn't suggest to open YouTube with it. My room area, which is on the 2nd floor unfortunately can not receive any WiFi signal. Hope in the future they will have better WiFi.
