Bubur Ayam or Chicken Congee is one of Indonesian's favorite breakfast. Consist of softly cooked rice, along with various condiments such as shreded chicken, peanut, chopped celery, fried chopped shallots, crackers and cakwe. Aside from those toppings, there are other condiments such as chicken liver, chicken bowels, quail egg, etc. And on top of that usually you can add chili, soy sauce, and/or curry sauce as your preferences.
One of the famous street vendor Bubur Ayam is in Palapa, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. Located in front of great Palapa Mosque and Palapa Soccer Field. Usually they open from 6AM til they sold out at around 9AM. The uniqueness in this vendor is that they provide the curry sauce separately so that you can freely add it up. The bowels and liver formed as satay. However, in my opinion the ration between the congee and the toppings is a bit inadequate, you will get more congee than the topping. But overall the taste is good.
